A bunch of people more interested in complaining than focusing on the work they are actually here to do.
[ Archer has very uncharitable opinions. ]
I've seen it before. And the resentment we face as Wardens has always been there. In the five years I've been here, there's always been a dedicated group of very loud Inmates who like to make their objections widely known.
Can't exactly blame the inmates. Even criminals don't want to go to prison or follow the rules.
[ And not everyone here as an inmate is a criminal in the truest sense, but on a standard that the Admiral has judged deserving of the label of 'inmate' with the potential of 'change'.
But Vincent says nothing of the wardens having allowances. ]
[ Archer can blame them, but it's not a point he cares to argue. ]
Tess. William. Rhys Strongfork. Carol Denning. Takeshi Kovacs. Those are the Inmate names that immediately come to mind.
There was also a fairly vocal Warden who believed we should be run like a much more strict prison system, but that idea gained very little traction at the time. Kristin Ortega.
[ Vincent has a reasonably good head for names and does keep abreast of the inmate ledger. Which brings him to pause as the names are rattled off. ]
Unless you're talking about Will Graham before he was a warden, I don't think I ran into any of those people. Don't suppose you know who might be continuing that trend?
[ He has a few names on a list he's probably going to be checking out. There's also a thoughtful pause. ]
Despite what people might think from my attitude. I don't think a much more strict prison system is the answer. But there are several things that need to be addressed. So I can understand why that idea wasn't popular.
No. They were here and left long before your time.
One could make the argument Trevor was also such an individual the first time he was an Inmate - but he was less concerned about changing the current system as he was carrying out his own brand of justice. Though I'm sure he still objects to this place on principle.
[ As for the ones continuing the trend- ]
I would count some of the Inmates responding to Walter's post in that number. The ones giving you a hard time in particular.
And while I would object to a stricter system myself, it has been my experience that the ones who complain the loudest are also the least inclined to listen to other perspectives. Which makes it nearly impossible to engage in a good faith discussion.
Trevor has a bad tendency to hand out weapons to individuals he trusts without telling others.
[ It's not that giving weapons to inmates that can be trusted with them is bad. It's the lack of communication with people that should know those weapons are there that's the problem. ]
Well, his own brand of justice seems to have come around to bite him. [ There's no sign in his tone that suggests the gunman takes pleasure in that. ] And it's caused a stir.
I'm... working on a small project of my own. Hoping to gain insight on ways to present ideas of better cooperation and transparency. Hm. Time will tell if there's anything that changes.
What he did to Max to get himself demoted is relatively tame compared to what he was like as an Inmate. I'd like to think he won't be quite as disruptive this time.
[ As for the rest of it...well. ]
Others have tried before. I don't know that I would have much to add to such an effort myself, but if you're interested in speaking to people who've been here for quite some time, there are some who have been here longer than I have.
Who knows? I didn't bring it up because I'd been hoping to see it.
[ The demotion. Vincent doesn't take particular joy in seeing Trevor punished. It's just another part of the problems with how the wardens function as a unit.
Which is to say they don't really. ]
I might not be good at conversation. But I know how to listen.

Hrmph. That's not surprising either. Got names?
[ He'll be interested to look in on that. ]
